Solar panels, also known as photovoltaics, capture the sun's energy and convert it into electricity that you can use in your home.
A heat pump is part of a heating and cooling system and is installed outside your home/building. Like an air conditioner, it can cool the property, but it is also capable of providing heat.
An electric vehicle charging station is equipment that connects an electric vehicle (EV) to a source of electricity to recharge electric cars, neighbourhood electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.
Solar panels, also known as photovoltaics, capture the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity that you can use in your home. By installing solar panels you can generate your own renewable electricity.
With a network of qualified electrical engineers, GorSmith Electrical is your local solar specialist. Contact us if you need a solar system fitted or have an existing one that needs servicing or regular maintenance.
Our charges are very much dependent on the size of your property & the type of panels that meet you specific needs
Heat pumps are systems that move (or pump) heat from one place to another by using a compressor and circulating a structure of liquid or gas refrigerant. Through this, the heat is extracted from outside sources and then pumped indoors. Pumping the heat tends to use a lot less electrical energy than the typical methods of turning electricity into heat. Plus, during the summer months, the cycle can be reversed, and the unit will act as an air conditioner instead, making it multi-functional. Heat pumps do not burn fossil fuel like furnaces do, making them more environmentally friendly. Heat pumps help many organisations lower their carbon footprint. Conventional heating systems, fuelled by natural gas, are increasing less aligned with a low carbon future.
Heat pumps are the most efficient alternative to fuel, oil, and electrical systems, when it comes to the process of heating and cooling. They supply a larger capacity of heating and cooling than the amount of electrical energy that is used to run it. In fact, the efficiency rate can go up as high as 300%.
– Heat pumps are much safer than systems that are based on combustion.
– They are cheaper to run than oil and gas boilers.
– The system reduces your carbon emissions.
– Less maintenance than combustion heating systems.
– Can provide cooling during the summer.
– They have a very long lifespan of up to 50 years.
– You may be eligible for payment under the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.
Heat pumps can actually be pretty expensive to install. However, the cost will tend to vary for every model of heat pump. The usual price range for a complete and all-inclusive installation is between £9,000 and £17,000. This takes into account the fact that running costs will differ depending on the house, installation, and the size.
Generally, the running costs for this will be lower than other systems, with the main differences being seen once you switch from your current method of heating. An example would be that if you were to switch from gas heating, it would give you the lowest savings figures. On the other hand, shifting from electricity could save you over £500 per year.
The most important thing to remember when it comes to installing a heat pump is to ensure that it is done correctly. Once installed we will also stay to explain how it works to you, as well as the ideal settings for your home and location.
An electric vehicle charging station is equipment that connects an electric vehicle (EV) to a source of electricity to recharge electric cars, neighbourhood electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. Some charging stations have advanced features such as smart metering, cellular capability and network connectivity, while others are more basic.
Charging stations are also called electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) and are provided in municipal parking locations by electric utility companies or at retail shopping centres by private companies. These stations provide special connectors that conform to the variety of electric charging connector standards.
We offer a number of quality vehicle charging options, meaning we can supply and install electric vehicle charger equipment for you! Whether it is a public charging bay or a smart home charging solution, just get in touch and we’ll be able to recommend and install the charging system for you.
Pricing depends on a variation of things, mainly which earthing arrangement must be used.
